(Port) Wine of the month November 2016: Calem Vintage Port 1955

It is always a great pleasure to have some 20 different Vintage Ports from one producer in a single tasting. If you also have the Chief-Enologist next to you commenting the wines, you receive an unbeatable experience. From all the 23 years between 1927 and a cask sample of the 2015, the 1955 Vintage Port did impress me the most. Look out for old (and very recent!) Calem Vintage Ports.

Dark-red colour. Still residual fruit with malt and an enormous finesse in the bouquet. The palate reveals an amazing complexity, malt, mild coffee, chocolate. Long, persistent and multy-layered aftertaste. 19/20
